Competitor Analysis and planning our SEO Game Plan
To conquer the front page, its important to know who is ruling the front page! The client had stiff competition from other asphalt companies who had been on the front page of most search engines for years. Hence, we had to do something different that would knock off competition. We researched to find some loopholes in the SEO of the existing competitors and take advantage of that.
Adding multiple location pages/landing pages/city based pages to target local audience
In the physical world, if you have to target different cities you erect different physical billboards in different cities. Think of location pages/city-based pages to be your online billboards that need to be erected/added to your website to target the local audiences of each city that you wish to offer services in. Hence meticulously designed location pages were added and optimized for each city and service that the client wanted to offer in that city. With our manual indexing process, we were able to have Google quickly crawl and index each of these location pages and rank them on the front page!
Google My Business Profile
The client’s GMB profile was dormant. We had to revive the same and optimize it smartly. Client worked with us to get Google reviews posted on his GMB profile and we kept the profile buzzing by adding relevant GMB posts. Lo and behold, the client’s GMB profile was ranking in the 3-pack section (map section) of the Google front page for most of the keywords that we targeted.
Off-Page SEO/Backlinks
Since our competition was with larger franchises, we ensured very high quality backlinking/off page SEO for our client to ensure that we can capture and retain the top few positions on the Google front page.
